The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) conducted a Training Course on Rice Technology: โ€œPalayCheck Systemโ€ in support to F2C2 program at San Marcelino, Zambales from May 28 - 30, 2025.

A total of 30 farmers from the local community participated in the training, which aimed to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of farmers, enabling them to apply improved rice farming technologies in their respective fields. This will enable them to produce higher yield, higher grain recovery rate, and higher income.

The Palay Check System is a key component of the training, and integrated crop management system developed by the Philippine Rice Research Institute to promote sustainable and efficient rice production.

Participants engaged in hands-on activities and were introduced to new and innovative farm machinery, showcasing the practical application of modern technology in rice cultivation. This exposure aimed to influence farmers to adopt beneficial processes in their own rice fields.

Furthermore, Mr. Remin Sardo, Municipal Agriculturist of San Marcelino, welcomed the participants and expressed support for the initiative. Mr. Efren Besarra, Agriculturist II from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, delivered an encouraging message emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and innovation in farming.

Mr. Crisostomo Rabacca, Provincial Agriculturist of Zambales, emphasized the importance of farmer clustering, noting that it provides greater access to the Department of Agriculture extension support and services.

The activity emphasized ATI-Clโ€™s commitment to empowering farmers through capacity-building initiatives and promoting climate-resilient agricultural practices.
