Agricultural Training Institute- Central Luzon (ATI-CL) conducted a five-day "Training of Trainers on Farm Consolidation and Corn Cluster Development" held at the ATI RTC III Satellite Office in Brgy. Singalat, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija on August 12-16, 2024.
The training focused on the concept of corn clustering and consolidation; a critical strategy aimed at modernizing the corn industry.
This approach is designed to boost the production of high-quality corn for human consumption, animal feeds, and industrial purposes. Additionally, it seeks to empower farmers and other stakeholders, enabling them to increase their income and improve their quality of life.
Furthermore, the course covered five essential modules including Overview of Farm Clustering; Types of Organization, Features and Benefits; Formulation of Farm Cluster Development Plan; Financial Management and Training Management.
Experts from the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office III (DA-RFO III), including Mr. Genesis C. Martin, alongside Ms. Reinalyn C. Gulen and Mr. Jayson B. Nidua from ATI-CL, served as resource person for the training. Their expertise provided participants with valuable insights on developing and managing successful farm clusters.
Additionally, the participants were required to create re-entry plans that outline how they will implement cluster development planning in their respective areas. This ensures the practical application of the knowledge and skills acquired during the training.
Moreover, the training, conducted under the Corn Program, brought together 32 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from different parts of the region.
This training is expected to play a significant role in strengthening the corn industry in Central Luzon, promoting sustainable practices, and enhancing the overall productivity of farm clusters.
