The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL), in partnership with the Office of Senator Grace Poe (OSGP) and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist in Tarlac, conducted a three-day Municipal Training on Goat Production for Binhi ng Pag-asa Program Beneficiaries of Tarlac - Batch 4 held at Farmer's Training Center, Tarlac Agricultural University, Camiling, Tarlac from July 23-25, 2024.
A total of 20 youth from San Clemente, Tarlac participated in the training, which aimed to build their leadership while managing and enhancing agri-fisheries activities.
During the opening program, Ms. Rodilyn Alarcon, Youth Coordinator and BPP Focal Person of San Clemente, Tarlac, warmly welcomed the participants. Additionally, Ms, Delia A. Felix, Municipal Agriculturist of San Clemente, Tarlac, showed her support for the youth of San Clemente,ย in her message.ย
โSa libo-libong kabataan sa bayan ng San Clemente, kayo ang napili para maging isang Binhi ng Pag-asa kung kayaโt paghusayan ninyo ang inyong pagsasanay,โ quipped Ms. Felix.
Ms. Charlene Gonzales, PEO I/Project Officer, gave the overview of the activity.
Furthermore, Mr. Rhoan Jaycen S. Franco and Mr. Jyleazar Y. Dela Rosa II, National Training of Trainers graduates, discussed the modules including National Situation, Leadership and Values Formation, Agricultural Advocacies, Agripreneurship and social media in Farming.
Dr. Ma Asuncion Beltran, former VP-RET of TAU, thoroughly discussed the module on Goat Production with lessons including Potentials of Goat Production; Production Management; Ranging, Feeds, and Feeding; and Common Diseases of Goats.ย
Dr. Annalie Paragas, Associate Professor I of College of Veterinary Medicine, discussed the lesson on Add-on Enterprise on Goat Production while Mr. John Arris E. Rayo, from College of Agriculture and Forestry, discussed Economics on Goat Production.
Ms. Danica Joyce N. Rivera, one of the participants, remarked, โAng aking mga natutunan sa pagsasanay, leadership and agriculture ay to be a leader it doesnโt always come with just power, but it should always be the commitment, the passion, and the willingness to change for the better-for the best are the main goal.โย
The municipal training - batch 4 graduates are expected to share their newfound knowledge and hope with fellow youth, encouraging them to engage in agriculture and become future leaders.
In the completion of the training process, the participants experienced hands-on activities such as UMMB Making, Silage Preparation, Age Identification through Dentition and Ear tagging at TAU AI Laboratory.ย
Dr. Allan Jeffrey Francia, Dr. Annalie B Paragas, and Dr. Lavina Gracia M. Ramirez, from the College of Veterinary Medicine, guided the participants in their demonstration of the said hands-on activity.
To serve as the final output, the participants prepared and submitted their re-entry plan.
