Agricultural Training Institute - Central Luzon (ATI-CL) concluded the five-day Training on Leadership and Conflict Management on April 24, 2026 in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija, equipping 30 farmer-members from Farmers’ Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) and Rice Clusters with enhanced leadership, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
The program aimed to strengthen participants’ capabilities in leadership, improve their ability to manage conflicts within organizations, and build competencies in cooperative governance and strategic planning.
The training opened with registration of participants and an orientation program that included welcome remarks, key messages, and a presentation of the course overview.
In the afternoon session, Mr. Karlo F. Galang, General Manager, Kitanglad Multipurpose Cooperative led discussions on Basic Leadership Skills. Topics included personal development, organizational concepts, group dynamics, cooperation, trust-building, and effective communication.
The sessions on second day continued to explore leadership, focusing on leadership styles and collaboration. This was followed by discussions on Cooperative Management and Governance, highlighting principles of good governance, compliance with labor laws, policy development, and effective cooperative management practices.
Moreover, participants attended sessions on Conflict Management, which tackled the sources of conflict, mediation and conciliation techniques, and practical strategies for resolution. The day also featured interactive role-playing activities that allowed participants to simulate and address real-life conflict situations.
Strategic Planning was the focus on the fourth day, with discussions covering vision and mission formulation, setting objectives, SWOT analysis, and the overall planning process, including monitoring and evaluation.
The final day of training included a workshop and values re-orientation session facilitated by Mr. Charls Angelou Inieto, Technical Support Staff IV. Participants also completed a post-test and overall training evaluation to measure learning outcomes.
The program concluded with a closing ceremony that featured a synthesis of key learnings, sharing of participant insights, and closing messages from representatives of the local government unit of San Leonardo.
“Sa loob po ng limang araw na pag-aaral, tunay pong nadagdagan ang aming kaalaman tungkol sa tamang pamumuno sa aming mga samahan. Malaki po ang naitulong nito upang mas maayos naming mapamunuan ang aming organisasyon at lalo pa itong mapabuti at mapaunlad,” Erlinda Galande, Farmer from Gintong Butil Farmers Association said as her impression on the training during the graduation ceremony.
