The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) celebrated the successful harvest of young farmer-interns during the Corn Harvest Festival under the Youth Internship Program of Corn Young Farmers, held at the Tolitz Farm, Anao, Tarlac, on March 25, 2025.
The event highlighted the contributions of interns and their farm partners to sustainable corn production, reinforcing the role of youth in modernizing agriculture.
Ms. Guia D. Reyes, Corn Focal Person and Mr. Benigno Soriano Jr., Administrative Support Staff from ATI-CL attended the event including Hon. Gian Pierre De Dios, Municipal Mayor, and Mr. Alvin C. Butay, Municipal Agriculturist, with staff from the Municipal Agriculture Office of Anao Tarlac, also the representative from the Provincial and Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Councils (PAFC & MAFC) and farmer leaders of Anao, Tarlac.
Furthermore, two (2) interns presented their business enterprise projects, demonstrating innovative approaches to value-adding in agriculture, Ms. Rovick Ann Mendoza, focused on feed formulation, emphasizing the use of locally available ingredients to produce cost-efficient and sustainable livestock feed, while Mr. Mark Genesis Umipig, who specialized in silage production, highlighting an effective way to preserve food for livestock during off-season periods.
Moreover, the festival strengthened collaboration among government officials, agricultural experts, and farmer leaders, reinforcing support for young farmers. As the Youth Internship Program for Young Corn Farmers - Batch 1 concludes in May 2025, ATI-CL remains dedicated to equipping the next generation with the skills needed to drive agricultural innovation.
