The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) concluded the first batch of Training of Trainers on Digital Agriculture Course for RCEF (TOT on DAC4RCEF) held at Duran Farm, Brgy. Basuit, San Ildefonso, Bulacan from April 23-26, 2024.

The TOT on DAC4RCEF aimed to equip farmers with digital literacy essential for navigating digital agricultural applications. Participants were trained in utilizing various agricultural and mobile applications, e-extension services, and e-commerce platforms.

Ms. Desiree Duran, LSA Cooperator of Duran Farm, inaugurated the training, expressing gratitude to ATI-CL for their unwavering support and trust in the farm's role as an extension provider.

Senator Cynthia Villar extended a warm welcome to the participants through a video message, with the presence of Ms. Emy De Jesus, representative from the Office of Senator Villar, graced the event. The office of Senator Villar provided learning kits for the participants.

Moreover, Mr. John Patrick Gutierez, Technical Support Staff IV of ATI-CL, discussed the introduction to social media and smartphones.

On the second day, different rice-based applications such as Binhing Palay App, E-damuhan, Spidtech, MOET App, Leaf Color Computing (LCC) App, and AgriDoc app discussed by Mr. Kent Edward S. Ballesteros, Media Production Specialist II and Ms. Meamette Y. Rosario, Technical Support Staff IV.

On the third day, Rice Crop Manager Advisory Services (RCMAS) discussed by Mr. Ballesteros to the participants.

In addition, E-Commerce and different e-commerce platforms were discussed by Mr. Gutierez and Social Media Marketing was discussed by Ms. Rosario, will help the farmers to shift to digital and online marketing of their products.

Furthermore, Ms. Lily Dela Cruz, Agriculturist II from Partnership and Accreditation Services (PAS) of ATI-CL was invited to discuss El Niño.

The training concluded with sessions on communication and presentation skills facilitated by Mr. Gutierez. The participants received certificates of completion, and special awards were given to outstanding individuals.

Twenty-one youth and farmers from various Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) in region 3 attended the training.

The next batch of DAC4RCEF is scheduled on May 27-30, 2024, at Merryland Farm, Pulilan, Bulacan.
