In support of the Youth Internship Program of the Corn Young Farmers, two corn interns presented their corn-based enterprise projects to Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office III (DA-RFO III), on April 14, 2025, at ATI-CL, San Ramon, Dinalupihan, Bataan.

The activity began with the acknowledgment of guests and participants, led by Ms. Guia D. Reyes, Development Management Officer II of ATI-CL. This was followed by welcome remarks from Dr. Joey A. Belarmino, Center Director of ATI-CL, who highlighted the significant role of youth in agriculture.

In addition, Ms. Melody G. Nobre, Regional Corn Focal Person from DA-RFO III, expressed her support for the two corn interns who demonstrated the courage to elevate their internship experience. Ms. Reyes then presented an overview of the program.

The first presenter, Ms. Rovick Ann Mendoza, a corn intern from San Marcelino, Zambales, proposed a project titled "MNR (Manok ni Rovick) Corn Harvest Feed Solutions," which focuses on formulating quality feeds for chickens. Ms. Nobre advised Ms. Mendoza to concentrate on product processing and conduct pre-testing to determine whether the feed is palatable to animal consumers.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mark Genesis Umipig, also from San Marcelino, Zambales, presented his project titled "GEAN Farm: Corn Silage Production," the name of which is derived from the initials of his family members. Dr. Belarmino remarked that Mr. Umipig should be aware of his competitors in the field to effectively assess his business position in the market.

The presentations were evaluated by a panel from ATI-CL composed of Dr. Belarmino, Center Director; Ms. Elsa F. Victoria, Chief of CDMS; Mr. Jayson B. Nidua, DMO I; and Ms. Reyes, DMO II and Corn Focal Person. DA-RFO III was also represented by Ms. Melody Joy Nobre, Regional Corn Coordinator, and Mr. Genesis Martin, Agriculturist II.

The activity concluded with the awarding of certificates of appreciation to all personnel who served as panelists. The program ended with closing remarks from Ms. Elsa F. Victoria.
