The Agricultural Training Institute – Central Luzon (ATI-CL) conducted a ten-day Training of Trainers (TOT) on Rice and Rice-Based Farming System with Re-entry Plan for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), held at the ATI-CL, San Ramon, Dinalupihan, Bataan from March 4-13, 2025.
This comprehensive training consists of twenty-seven (27) Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), which aimed to enhance their capabilities and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills in rice and rice-based farming systems.
Additionally, it covers social technologies that will guide them in implementing rice extension services effectively within their respective municipalities.
The program began with a formal acknowledgment of guests and participants, followed by a warm welcome remark from Ms. Reinalyn C. Gulen, OIC-Assistant Center Director, and a message of support from Engr. Joey A. Belarmino, Ph.D., Center Director.
The training is designed to achieve different key learning outcomes, including the following: the participants can describe the rice industry situation of the Philippines and Central Luzon; can explain the other programs in Central Luzon under the Rice Program; can apply their knowledge and skills on appropriate rice production and post-production technologies on their respective rice farms; can identify the different rice-based farming systems; can influence and inspire others to strive beyond required expectations; can identify the various methods and approaches of extension; can communicate effectively; and can deliver relevant topics on rice and rice-based technologies.
Moreover, the participants are tasked to implement farmer-level training to their municipality as their re-entry plan to be monitored by ATI -CL.
