Twenty (20) farmer-youth participants finished the second roll-out of the Training on Digital Farmers Program (DFP) conducted in San Jose, Tarlac on August 24-26, 2022 spearheaded by Agricultural Training Institute – Central Luzon in partnership with Tingtano Integrated Farm.
Like the previous roll-out, the three-day training revolved around the use of smartphones as a supplementary tool in farming practices using different apps such as area measurement, weather, pest and disease identification, and social media marketing for the products and services.
Malaki ‘yung mga tulong na apps,” said Ms. Evelyn D. Santos, a participant from Brgy. Burgos.
The participants were given the chance to experience the different applications, especially the area field measure app used in planning the integration of different crops, and also the pests and diseases identification app used in the proper management of their crops.
Napakalaking tulong talaga ng Digital Farmers Program,” said Mr. Braulio B. Capiral, a participant from Brgy. Sula.
Ms. Marilou and Mr. Christian Facun, owners of TingTano Integrated Farm, served as the resource persons in the event, applying their learnings from the training of trainers conducted by ATI-CL and their experience as agripreneurs.
The next roll-out for the DFP Farmer-Level will in Maria Aurora, Aurora on September 6-8, 2022 in partnership with Cornerstone Training and Learning Center Inc.
