The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) implemented the Seminar on Urban Food Production 3 among the youth in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on April 11, 2023.
The activity aimed to equip the participants with skills and knowledge in urban food production to be applied in their households.
David Bryan Sagcal, a participant, realized that he can make fertilizer for his crops from readily available household and backyard items.
“Ang akala ko mahirap gumawa ng pataba sa pananim yun pala ay nasa paligid lang natin ang sagot. Mas maganda talaga kapag naituturo ng maayos sa mga magsasaka,” said Sagcal.
The seminar also tacked the different urban agriculture techniques and crops suitable for urban gardening. In addition, natural inputs available in the household was discussed. Further, basic farm recording was presented by the resource speaker.
