ATI-CL delivers goat raising starter kits for BPP in Tarlac

The Department of Agriculture, through its Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center III, together with the Office of the Senator Grace Poe (OSGP) and Local Government Units (LGUs), had successfully delivered the starter kits to the 128 beneficiaries of the BINHI ng Pag-asa Program (BPP) from the municipality of San Clemente, Camiling, Mayantoc, Sta. Ignacia and Moncada. The beneficiaries from the said municipalities received a total of 128 upgraded female goats, 36 upgraded male goats, 128 packs of Rensonii seeds, and 128packs of Flemingia seeds.

The delivery of starter kits is part of the objective of BPP to empower the young farmers of Tarlac to become competent agripreneurs. The beneficiaries underwent a three-day training about goat production, leadership in agriculture, and values formation.

In the province of Tarlac, a total of 485 young farmers attended the training. There were two batches of provincial training composed of 30 participants each, and seventeen batches of municipal training composed of 25 participants each. The training was conducted from September 5 to November 19, 2022.
