The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office III (DA-RFO III), spearheaded the implementation of Regional Roll Out of The Use of Outcome-Based Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Tool among agricultural extension workers on June 12-15, 2023 in Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
The participants learned the importance of monitoring, evaluation and learning. In addition, they learned the importance of sampling methodology to prevent errors in the survey. Further, the participants were able to operate the outcome-based MEL.
“Ito ang aking unang beses na mag-attend ng ganitong klase ng training, kinakabahan ako noong nalaman ko yung title ng training dahil aminado ako na marami pang dapat malaman. Ang best experience ko ay mismong interview with farmers, personal kong nasaksihan yung pagkakaroon ng kalituhan sa identity pero mas nakilala ko sila ng lubusan noong nakausap ko na sila,” quipped Joanna Marie Cayago, one of the participants.
Part of the training was to interview 100 farmers using the MEL tool in Lupao, Nueva Ecija.
The said participants will be tapped in the provincial roll-out of MEL tool in the following months.
