The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) participated in the International Conference on Agricultural Sciences and Technology (ICAST) 2024 at the Royce Hotel, Clark, Angeles City, Pampanga, from March 13–15, 2024.
With the theme Digitally Sustaining Our Future: Exploring the Application of Emerging Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability, the conference aims to disseminate knowledge and information about necessary technologies in agriculture.
Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia, Philippine Association of Agriculturists (PAA)- Tamarind Chapter President, opened the event by extending a warm welcome to all the participants.
In addition, Dr. Roberto F. Ranola, Chairman, BOD, PAA National, and Dr. Anita G. David, SUC President IV, Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), gave an inspirational speech to the attendees on the importance of the application of technologies in ensuring food security and sustainability.
Further, ATI-CL, through Dr. Joey A. Belarmino as the Center Director, was honored with a plaque of recognition for its invaluable contributions as the co-organizer of the said conference.
Meanwhile, Kent Edward A. Ballesteros, ATI-RTC III Media Specialist II, presented a paper entitled “ATI Digital Farmers Program and Implementation in Region 3,” which underscores the farmers, extension workers, and youth's knowledge on basic ICT and applications in the field of agriculture.
The event ended with a closing remark from PAA National President, Dr. Karen Salandanan-Bautista, and the awarding of certificates for winners, partners, and sponsors.
The three-day event, which was attended by more than 400 participants, was organized by the PAA-Tamarind Chapter and PSAU with ATI-CL as its co-sponsor.
