The Agricultural Training Institute- Central Luzon (ATI-CL), in partnership with D’Planners Training Center Inc. in Dinalupihan, Bataan, concluded a training on "Unlocking Yield Potential through Hybrid Rice Cultivation" for farmer leaders of Bataan from May 28-30, 2024.

The training aimed to improve rice yield through the use of hybrid rice technology.

It covered four main modules: Climate Change and Gender and Development (GAD), Understanding Hybrid Rice, Morphology and Growth Stages of the Rice Plant, and F1 Cultivation and Management.

Mr. Jayson S. Baldoz, from ATI -CL, and Mr. Roderick Y. Cruz, AEW of Hermosa, Bataan served as the resource persons and they led the lecture sessions, which included hands-on activities such as hybrid rice seed sowing with agricultural drones (led by AgriDOM Solutions Corp.) and seedling preparations for mechanical rice transplanting demonstrations.

Moreover, the training aimed to enhance Bataan’s rice cultivation practices, incorporating climate change mitigation and gender-sensitive approaches for sustainable development.

The said training was organized under the Rice Program facilitated by ATI-CL's Private Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Service Provider (PAF-ESP).
