The Agricultural Training Institute- Central Luzon (ATI-CL), in partnership with National Meat Inspection Service Regional Technical Operations Center III (NMIS RTOC III), conducted a 20-day βTraining on Basic Meat Inspection Courseβ held at ATI RTC III, San Ramon, Dinalupihan, Bataan from June 3-28, 2024.
The training aimed to enhance the skills of 25 meat inspectors from different municipalities of region 3. In the 20-day activity, the participants were immersed in discussions and practicum activities in slaughterhouses, cold storage, and poultry dressing plant. In addition, the participants also conducted a meat inspection and enforcement in selected public markets.
During the practicum, the participants gained hands-on experience in different practices of triple AAA slaughterhouse and processing plant, from slaughtering of pigs, cattle and chicken down to packaging. Also, proper meat inspection procedures and protocols were observed during the practicum.

Frances Erika H. David-Malixi said.
Moreover, the participants explored the complexities of meat inspection on field trips, plant production tours, and visits to slaughterhouses. These experiences were designed to provide them with practical expertise required for their future careers as meat inspectors.
At the end of the training, participants crafted their re-entry plan that will serve as their guide in their respective municipalities. They also signed their Pledge of Commitment during their graduation ceremony.Β
