The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL), in partnership with the Office of Senator Grace Poe (OSGP) and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist in Tarlac, conducted a Batch 6 of Municipal Training on Goat production for Binhi ng Pag-asa Program beneficiaries of Pura, Tarlac held at Farmer's Training Center, Tarlac Agricultural University, Camiling, Tarlac from August 6-8, 2024.
The Binhi ng Pag-asa Program aimed to strengthen and enhance the leadership and values of youth beneficiaries while managing their agri-fisheries endeavors.
During the program, Ms. Mary Jane O. Gaongen, Youth Coordinator and BPP Focal Person of Pura, Tarlac warmly welcomed the participants.
Mr. Leo S. Transfiguracion, Municipal Agriculturist of Pura, Tarlac, showed his support for the youth of Tarlac City, Tarlac, in his message.
Ms. Charlene Gonzales, PEO I/Project Officer gave the overview of the activity.
Furthermore, Mr. Sean Jenery I. Quinto and Mr. Michael V. Grande, National Training of Trainers discussed the following modules on National Situation, Leadership and Values Formation, Agricultural Advocacies, Agripreneurship, social media in Farming.
Additionally, Dr. Ma Asuncion Beltran, former VP-RET of TAU, discussed Goat Production including Potentials of Goat Production, Production Management, Ranging, Feeds, and Feeding and Common Diseases of Goats.
Dr. Annalie Paragas, Associate Professor I of College of Veterinary Medicine discussed the Add -on Enterprise on Goat Production and Mr. John Arris E. Rayo from College of Agriculture and Forestry, discussed the Economics on Goat Production.
“Kabataan ang tagapagtaguyod ng bayan, as a youth we are the next generation of upgraded farmers to uplift the agriculture sector. Kaya sa pagtatapos ng training na ito uuwi po kaming siksik liglig sa impormasyon,” quipped Angel Dague, one of the participants.
Moreover, the participants experienced hands-on activities such as UMMB Making, Silage Preparation, Age Identification through Dentition and Ear tagging at TAU AI Laboratory. Dr. Allan Jeffrey Francia, Dr. Annalie B Paragas, and Dr. Lavina Gracia M. Ramirez, from the College of Veterinary Medicine guided the participants in their demonstration of the said hands-on activity. Also, the participants submitted a re-entry plan as part of their final output.
