The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) conducted a three-day training on Native Goat Production and Management held at Baler, Aurora on August 27-29, 2024.

This initiative aimed to integrate goat farming into coconut farms, enhancing agricultural productivity and diversifying income sources for coconut farmers.

This training, aligned with the Coconut Farmers Industry Development Program (CFIDP), represents a significant step in modernizing the Philippine coconut industry by providing farmers with the necessary skills to combine goat and coconut farming, the program seeks to boost productivity, improve livelihoods, and contribute to poverty reduction.

Dr. Franklin C. Barnachea from PRMSU San Marcelino Campus; Mr. Adriano A. Necesito from Azbahaen Agri-Tourism Farm; and Mr. Aldrin G. Veneracion from the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA); provided valuable insights during the training. The topics included feed processing, goat management, and sustainable integration practices.

Moreover, this training empowered farmers to adopt sustainable practices that align with the goals of CFIDP, enlightening the agricultural growth in the Central Luzon.
