In celebration of Organic Agriculture (OA) Month, the Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) implementedΒ a one-day activity on Organic Agriculture (OA) Month Celebration among its staff held at the ATI-RTC III, San Ramon, Dinalupihan, Bataan on November 7, 2024.
The event, with the theme βOK sa OA: PGS Pinalakas para sa Bagong Pilipinas,β aimed to promote awareness and deepen understanding of organic agriculture among ATI-CL staff. Dr. Dianne M. Lapuz, Project Officer, facilitated the said event which was attended by ATI staff from Admin and Finance Unit (AFU), Career Development and Management Section (CDMS), Information Services Section (ISS), Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (PMEU), and the Partnership and Accreditation Center (PAS).
The event started with an opening message from Dr. Joey A. Belarmino, Center Director of ATI-CL, who welcomed all participants and expressed his full support for the initiative.
The highlight of the event was the Organic Agriculture Quiz Bee, where participants were tested of their knowledge on different topics related to organic farming, sustainable practices, and natural farming strategies. The quiz bee aimed not only to engage the staff but also to reinforce their understanding of organic agriculture as a key component of the countryβs agricultural development.
The winners of the quiz bee were:

β’ 1st Place: Ms. Carla Gabon, Administrative Support Staff, PMEU
β’ 2nd Place: Ms. Laarni Quintas, Administrative Support Staff, CDMS
β’ 3rd Place: Mr. Raniel James Garcia, Administrative Support Staff, AFU
β’ 4th Place: Engr. Omie Carbonel, Technical Support Staff, PAS
β’ 5th Place: Mr. Kent Edward Ballesteros, Media Production Specialist, ISS
The quiz bee was followed by the awarding of certificates to recognize the participantsβ efforts. The event concluded with a look ahead to next yearβs OA Month celebration, with plans to hold another quiz bee to continue promoting organic agriculture and engage staff in ongoing learning.
This event was part of ATI-CL's broader initiative to strengthen its commitment to organic agriculture and enhance the knowledge and skills of its staff in line with the countryβs push for sustainable agricultural practices.
