The Agriculture Training Institute- Central Luzon concluded a webinar on AgriTalk 2024 (CocoTech: Advancement in Coconut Production through Modernization of the Coconut Industry) under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) Program on November 25, 2024, via Center’s Facebook Page.

The activity was attended by more than 100 participants online around the public, which aims to give them awareness and understanding of different agricultural technologies and other initiatives among farmers and other stakeholders; also discuss the potential benefits and challenges of adopting new technologies in coconut production, considering factors like scalability and cost-effectiveness.

Dr. Joey A. Belarmino, Center Director, ATI-CL, gave a warm message to the online listener and viewers also consider the partner agency both public and private sector.

Ms. Joan P. Su-ay, Project Development Officer III and Mr. Judel Q. Villanueva, Project Development Officer II both from Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) served as a resource person and discussed the following topics on Global Status of Coconut Industry; Philippine Coconut Industry; Technologies in Coconut Production such as Hybridization, Coconut Somatic Embryogenesis Technology (CSet), Common Salt Fertilization, Integrated Management of Rhinoceros Beetle, Intercropping (Coconut Cacao and Coconut-Coffee), Coconut Sugar Processing, Charcoal Briquetting and also the benefits and Impacts of Coconut Technologies.

The activity concluded by having a questions and answer portion together with the online participants and resource person.

Moreover, the activity will not be completed without the help of Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) from three provinces in Central Luzon including Aurora, Bataan and Zambales (Diaz Agrifarm, D’ Planners, Greenhaven, Bonagua Integrated Farm, Teves Integrated Family Farm, Cornerstone Training and Learning Center, Fabros Integrated Farm and Agofina Roxas Integrated Farm) that provided a comfort place to held the online discussion on each training hall.
