The Agricultural Training Institute – Central Luzon (ATI-CL) held a consultative meeting on November 28, 2024, at ATI-RTC III in Dinalupihan, Bataan, bringing together stakeholders from the swine sector, including the David Swine Artificial Insemination Center (DavSAIC) and SWAIB beneficiaries. The meeting aimed to address key issues affecting the region’s swine industry.
Dr. Joey A. Belarmino, Center Director of ATI-CL, and Mr. Jayson B. Nidua, Livestock Focal, led the event, which was attended by SWAIB beneficiaries from San Antonio, Zambales, and Candaba, Pampanga, along with representatives from the Provincial Veterinary Office of Bataan and DavSAIC stakeholders.
During the meeting, SWAIB beneficiaries shared their experiences, discussing challenges related to boar management, biosecurity measures, and the interventions they have implemented to address these issues. The discussion facilitated the exchange of technical, marketing, and management solutions, nurturing collaboration and innovation within the industry.
The meeting emphasized the need for a unified approach to support backyard swine farmers, promoting sustainable practices and contributing to the economic growth of the region.
