SARIAYA, Quezon — To help improve the livelihood of coconut farmers, the DA-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON conducted the third batch of “Training on the Production of Coconut Products and By-products through Value Addition” from June 17-19, 2025.
Implemented in collaboration with the local government unit and under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), the activity aimed to improve participants’ knowledge and skills in processing coconut products and by-products.
During the course of the training, 30 coconut farmers learned about the opportunities in coconut production, best agricultural practices for coconut, basic food hygiene and food safety, value chain analysis, and processing of food and non-food coconut products and by-products.
This training and its methodology seek to help address key challenges facing the coconut industry, including untapped and unoptimized opportunities across the value chain.
