LOPEZ, Quezon – Thirty-three farmers from the Lopez Federation of Farmers Association are now ready to share what they learned about digital agriculture with their communities after completing the Techie sa Agri: Training of Trainers on Digital Farmers Program (DFP) 101 & 102 for Farm Tech Package on June 17-19, 2025.

Coinciding with the celebration of National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Month this June, this initiative by the DA-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON aims to train the members of the said federation in implementing the DFP at the grassroots level.

Through the Center’s Information Services Section, farmer-participants acquired essential insights on using smartphones, accessing the internet, exploring agriculture apps, leveraging social media for marketing of farm products, and facilitating future training activities.

Following this, they are expected to cascade similar training in their communities, empowering fellow farmers with knowledge on digital agriculture. The DA-ATI CALABARZON and PLDT-Smart Communications, Inc. will also provide them with the DFP Farm Tech Package that includes tools and resources to help them conduct their action plan.

In his message, DA-ATI CALABARZON Center Director Dr. Rolando Maningas expressed his full support and trust in the new trainers, who will bring knowledge, hope, and technology to uplift agriculture. Ms. Rebecca Tiama, Municipal Agriculturist of Lopez, also graced the event and delivered a message, ensuring the support of the local government to the federation.
