To orient the owner, staff, and farmer-beneficiaries of Agustin's Farming School on the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) Farm Tech and their responsibilities as project beneficiaries, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MIMAROPA conducted the DFP Farm Tech Briefing and Provision of ICT Equipment on June 22, 2026, at Agustin's Farming School, Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro.
In his message of support through a pre-recorded video, ATI-MIMAROPA Center Director Pat Andrew B. Barrientos encouraged the recipient to maximize the use of the equipment and training opportunities provided under the program to improve agricultural productivity and promote digital transformation in their communities.
Mr. Erlan D. Pasana, OIC-Chief of the Information Services Section of ATI-MIMAROPA, led the DFP Farm Tech briefing. During the activity, the 20 farmer-participants gained a better understanding of the program, including its objectives, key components, and training modules: DFP 101, DFP 102, and DFP 103.
During the turnover ceremony, Mr. Reynante B. Agustin, owner of Agustin's Farming School and a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) cooperator, formally received the DFP Farm Tech Package on behalf of the farm. The package included one DFP utility bag, one tablet, ten smartphones, one portable daylight projector, one portable foldable projector screen, one portable sound system, two flash drives, and DFP modules.
In his acceptance message, Mr. Agustin acknowledged the farm's responsibilities as a project beneficiary, including the proper use, safekeeping, and maintenance of the equipment. He also expressed his commitment to conducting DFP-related training activities within their community, particularly in remote areas.
"Napakalaking tulong itong DFP Farm Tech Package dito sa Abra dahil marami itong matutulungang mga magsasaka at kabataan. Tuturuan namin sila ng mga agricultural applications sa pagsasaka sa ilalim ng DFP. Kaya naman pagsisikapan naming magampanan ang aming tungkulin sa proyektong ibinigay sa amin," he said.
As part of its commitment to the project, Agustin's Farming School submitted a DFP Work Plan outlining how the ICT equipment will be used to train local farmers and youth, strengthen digital literacy, and support the adoption of digital technologies in agriculture.
