“Malaking tulong ang Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Kiosk sa aming mga magsasaka dahil napapabilis nito ang aming pagkuha ng impormasyon at teknolohiyang makatutulong sa aming pagsasaka at kabuhayan.”
This was shared by Mr. Gabriel M. Alba, owner of Alba Farm, a Learning Site for Agriculture certified by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MIMAROPA, during the virtual launch of the FITS Kiosk on June 30, 2026 via Google Meet.
Mr. Alba emphasized that timely access to relevant knowledge and agricultural innovations helps improve farm productivity, strengthen decision-making, and enhance farmers' livelihoods. He also expressed his commitment to the initiative, saying: “Ipinangako namin ang aming suporta sa proyektong ito at sisiguraduhin naming mapakikinabangan ito ng lahat ng mga magsasaka sa aming komunidad.”
The online activity was graced by ATI-MIMAROPA Center Director Pat Andrew B., who delivered a pre-recorded message expressing his full support for the initiative. He highlighted that the FITS Kiosk serves as an important platform for bringing agricultural technologies, information resources, and learning opportunities closer to farmers, fisherfolk, and other stakeholders in the community.
Representing the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Brooke’s Point, Palawan, Mr. Krist Joseph J. Cadlaon, Agriculturist II/FITS Center Manager, expressed his sincere gratitude to ATI-MIMAROPA for selecting the municipality as one of its partner-beneficiaries. He also reaffirmed the MAO’s commitment to the program, emphasizing that the FITS Kiosk will serve as a hub for learning, inspiration, and practical knowledge for local farmers.
During the launching, Mr. Erlan D. Pasana, OIC-Chief of the Information Services Section of ATI-MIMAROPA, oriented the staff of Alba Farm and 10 farmers on the objectives and key components of the Techno Gabay Program, including their roles and responsibilities as project beneficiaries.
Alba Farm received a catalytic fund of Php 80,000.00 and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials. The fund will support the establishment and maintenance of the FITS Kiosk, including the procurement of supplies, the display and dissemination of IEC materials, and the acquisition of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment for reproducing IEC materials and providing clients with access to digital learning resources.
The FITS Kiosk serves as a satellite office of the FITS Centers in the region, providing farmers, youth, and other stakeholders with ready access to IEC materials and related services.
Alba Farm is the 9th LSA FITS Kiosk established in the province of Palawan.
