In support to government’s thrust against drugs and create a drug free workplace, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) - MIMAROPA in partnership with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – MIMAROPA held drugs awareness orientation among the employees of ATI MIMAROPA employees on June 21, 2022 at ATI, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

Agent Simon Bello from PDEA facilitated the orientation where they discuss the salient feature of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Anti-Dangerous Drugs Law of 2002 including the types, use, possession, transport, and sale of illegal drugs. 
In addition, Agent Laylo del Prado discussed the Components of Drug-Free Workplace Policies and Programs which highlighted the ill-effect of drugs to people particularly to workplace.

According to Mr. Norberto C. Maur, OIC-Assistant Center Director said that this orientation is much needed by the agency since it created awareness to the rights of employees on the drug-related campaign of the government.

“As training agency of the DA where we cater various types of stakeholders, it is useful to have basic knowledge with the signs or symptoms of a drug-dependent individual – whether he/she is an employee of the ATI or a client. In that way, we could address such problem or circumstances in accordingly,” Mr. Maur added.

The said orientation was part of the activities during the 9th Center Management Review cum FY 2022 Midyear Performance Review on June 20 – 21, 2022.
