A collaborative meeting was conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute in MiMaRoPa along with its partners from the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office MiMaRoPa, Philippine Rice Research Institute, Western Philippine University, Philippine Information Agency, Local Government Units of Taytay and Roxas, Office of the Provincial Agriculture-Palawan, and Radyo Pilipinas Palawan on March 23, 2021 at A&A Hotel Plaza, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan for the implementation of Unified School-on-the Air Program on Smart Rice Agriculture (SOA-SRA) in the province.
SOA-SRA will share rice technologies particularly on NextGen varieties, RCM, PRISM and PRIME, among others through the use of radio. With this, critical mass of small farmers and local intermediaries will be reached and educated on modern technologies on smart rice production.
The second batch of SOA-SRA will start on April 26, 2021 and will be aired in Radyo Pilipinas Palawan and identified local radio stations in the involved municipalities.
