A total of 20 farmer participants attended the Training on Beef Cattle Production and Enterprise Development on August 2-4, 2023, at Simple Living Hotel, Inc. Brgy. Poctoy, Odiongan, Romblon.
The activity is in partnership with Da-Regional Field Office MIMAROPA. DA-RFO MIMAROPA endorsed 20 farmers who were members of the Ferrol Integrated Livestock Associations (FILA). They will be receiving a total of 1.5 million worth of projects to be downloaded to LGU-Ferrol within this year. Said project is under the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) program of DA-RFO.
Dr. Emmanuel D. Mago from Cavite State University served as the speaker during the training along with Ms. Alma Mae Manalo, the Project Officer.
Participants learned and became aware of the status of cattle production in the Philippines as well as its potential. Also, basic and proper management practices, breeding management, and recording system were imparted to the participants to ensure that the project will become successful. They were provided 10 different IEC materials including Pagpapalahi at Pag-aalaga ng Baka for additional information.
Participants ensure that they will share and put into action all the knowledge and skills they have learned from the training.
