Aiming to enable the participants able to organize and conduct training efficiently and effectively the Specialized Training Course on Training Management for New AEWs on August 9-11, 2023, at Dos Four Dos Agri-Trading Services, Ramon Magsaysay, Aborlan, Palawan.
Part of the discussion was Adult Learning, where it highlighted the distinct ways adults best respond to learning and it’s a must-know for any training provider. This topic emphasizes how adults learn and how it differs from children. The topic specifically aims to show how adult learning is distinct and identify the learning styles which suit them best.
Also, Training Needs Assessments and Parts of the Training Design were also tackled. The TNA is being done to identify performance requirements and the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed by an individual/group to achieve the requirements. This is being done to give the participants the training that they need.
For the output, participants were asked to prepare a training design based on the ideas they have learned during the discussion. The training design they prepared agreed to be used in their respective offices if they will be proposing the same activity as specified in their design.
Another, topics discussed were Training as Extension Services and Presentation and Facilitation Skills. On these topics, participants were able to learn the basic skills in facilitating and presenting. They also undergo a micro-teaching process wherein they were asked to prepare and deliver a 2-minute presentation.
A total of 22 New Agricultural Extension Workers attended the training.
