Facilities
The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) was established after the reorganization of the Bureau of Agricultural Extension, the Philippine Agricultural Training Council, and the Philippine Training Centers for Rural Development through Executive Order no. 116 in 1987. In 1998, ATI’s role was strengthened with Republic Act 8435 or the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act (AFMA) of 1997 which paved the way for more training, programs, and other extension services that improve the lives of farmers and fishers. To date, ATI is operating with its 16 Regional Training Centers, one of which is the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center MiMaRoPa located at Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
The ATI in MiMaRoPa continues to innovate its extension strategies to carry out the network’s sole vision which is food availability for very Filipino through excellent extension services. Part of the Center’s innovation is the continuous improvement of its amenities to better serve our clientele to make them feel at home while attending the training and staying in the office. It offers various facilities for trainings, seminars, and workshops as well as lodging and accommodation for guests and participants.
• Center for Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Training (CAFÉ) Halls
CAFE Hall A is the largest hall in the Center which can accommodate 150 individuals. | CAFE Hall B can comfortably seat a maximum of 80 participants | CAFE Hall C can fit up to 20 individuals. |

• Guest Dormitory
It offers a variety of well-maintained fully air-conditioned rooms that can accommodate 40 guests and participants. It has rooms with single beds with comfort rooms and bathrooms. |

• Processing Hub
It is a training room equipped with a gas range stove and complete kitchen utensils. It is specifically designed for demonstration purposes in livelihood and processing-related training which can accommodate around 20 participants. |

•e-Learning Lounge
It is ideal for formal meetings and conferences as well as access to e-learning courses. Also, it has various printed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials that farmers, extension workers, and other researchers can bring home for their reference. |

Applying the “Walk the Talk” concept, the ATI in MiMaRoPa has techno-demo areas for hands-on learning. Moreover, the Center continues to expand partnerships to advance excellence in agriculture and fisheries extension by the establishment of Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA), School for Practical Agriculture (SPA), Extension Service Provider (ESP), and Farmer’s Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center wherein:
• LSA - It serves as a model site for technology demonstration. In 2021, the ATI in MiMaRoPa has a total of 80 certified LSAs.
• ESP - It offers farm business advisory services, demonstration services, information services, and training services, whose owners/operators also become farmer-trainers.
• FITS Center/Kiosk - It is a one-stop service facility that provides fast access to agricultural information and farming technologies. In 2021, the Center has a total of 39 FITS Centers and nine (9) FITS Kiosks.
• Technology Demonstration and Assessment Center on Organic Agriculture NC II.
As a TESDA accredited Assessment Center, it has a techno-demo site that features Integrated Diversified Organic Farming System wherein the participants who toured in the farm were given clear ideas and concepts on how organic agriculture works.
• Technology Demonstration on Hydroponically Produced Green Barley
It is a techno-demo approach wherein hydroponically grown barley served as feeds for poultry and pigs. The program entailed a series of sensory tests to seek the acceptability of the meat of poultry and pigs fed with barley.
• ATIng Gulayan sa Sentrong Pasanayan -The Center is maximizing the use of small areas around its premises by applying different methods and techniques of Urban Agriculture.
