Amid rampant digitalization, we share the goal of ensuring adequate and rapid resource mapping, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) in the delivery of extension services.

The Agricultural Training Institute devised the Unified Extension Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Information System (UnExSys) for online profiling of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) in Local Government Units (LGUs).

Its Online AEW Registry System is a tool for organizing extension initiatives and identify the needs of our AEWs. This digitized platform aims to unify all AEWs across the Philippines.

The Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan (FYFIPT) is on its 5th Batch!

ATI Bicol in search for passionate and enthusiastic young Filipino farmers from Bicol Region who are willing to be trained on modern agricultural and fisheries techniques, marketing strategies, and cooperative management in a span of eleven (11) months in Taiwan.

The program is a partnership between the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines (TECO), together with ATI, through a Memorandum of Understanding that aims to enhance existing relations through the implementation of an internship program to qualified young Filipino farmers. The FYFIPT consists of the acquisition of skills and knowledge through the exchange of modern agricultural and fisheries techniques, marketing strategies and mechanisms, cooperative management, and enhancement of competencies, discipline, and values.

Call for Applicants (INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR CORN YOUNG FARMERS)

The Agricultural Training Institute, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-National Corn Program, will implement the Internship Program for Corn Young Farmers. It aims to provide opportunities for the youth to acquire the applicable knowledge, skills, and practices, specifically on corn-based agri-entrepreneurship. The farm partners shall mentor these interns on the farm activities within the corn value chain through value adding, processing, or marketing. 

In this regard, we are looking for applicants to represent Bicol. Below are the eligibility criteria and documentary requirements for the two key players in this program: 

FOR FARM PARTNERS:

Eligibility Criteria Documentary Requirements
Farm operator/owner of corn-based farming system/, preferably LSA certified farm, or member of a corn cluster; Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RS BSA) registered  Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) certification, if applicable 
RSBSA Registration 
Membership in Cluster Organizations 
With at least one (1) hectare (ha) corn area. Must be in operation for at least one (1) year.  Certification of corn area 
Farm Journal 
Financial statement for the previous year's operation 
Has internship program plan for 7 months  Internship Program plan and design including performance evaluation and post-internship assessment 
Has farm activities within the corn value chain either value adding, processing, or marketing  Farm layout; 
Photos of farm and its facilities including accommodation areas; 
List and biodata of resource persons/trainers; 
Has basic farm tools, equipment or facilities needed for its production and processing: 
Has accommodation facilities for at least two (2) interns.
The farm area is not part of armed conflict zones  Certification from the respective Philippine National Police Offices 
With good community standing and has no proven derogatory record At least two (2) recommendations letter from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers' cooperative or association) 
Others  Letter of intent addressed to the DA-ATI Regional Center Director 
Bank account details, preferably LBP if available 

 

FOR PROSPECTIVE INTERNS:

Eligibility Criteria Documentary Requirements
Youth
1. Age 18 to 35 years old at the time of application preferably single and parents are members of a corn cluster.

Clear scanned copy of any valid government-issued ID (e.g. PSA Certificate, PRC, National ID, Voters ID, etc.) (indicating the date of birth)

Certification from the Organization or Barangay Captain 

2. Educational Attainment; at least finished primary or secondary education.
3. Natural born Filipino citizen
4. Interested to venture in the agriculture industry, especially practice corn-value adding system

Notarized Sworn Statement as proof of willingness and commitment to undertake corn-based farming activities/enterprises after the training; 

Business/Enterprise Plan (BEP) 

5. Willingness to undertake 7-month internship and hands-on practice contract 
6. Physically and mentally fit

Medical certificate indicating "Fit to work" and no underlying health condition or history of psychological disorder. 

The following test results have to be submitted: ECG, Drug Test, and Chest X-ray 

7. Has good community standing or moral character At least two (2) recommendation letters from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers' cooperative or association) 
8. Others Bank account details, preferably LBP if available
Accomplished application form
Trainings attended if available 
Have no overdue obligations from the DA or ATI at the time of application
Proof of land in establishing the 
Business/Enterprise Plan (ie. Owned, Leased, Rented, or Donated) or a certification from the LGU/ATI RTC that there is available land for the planned business/enterprise, per validation
