Youth Scholarship for Organic Farming Grantees sign MOA with DA-ATI Bicol, Farm Partners

PILI, Camarines Sur -- Ten (10) Youth Scholarship for Organic Farming grantees signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center V (DA-ATI Bicol) and 5 farm partners on March 28, 2023 at Isarog Hall, ATI-RTC V, San Agustin, Pili, Camarines Sur. The grant aims to provide the youth with leadership and values transformation training as well as exposure to agri-economic opportunities in organic agriculture.

Among the signatories were ATI Bicol Center Director Elsa A. Parot, farm partners namely: Ocbian Nature Farm from Castilla Sorsogon; Carmel Agri-Learning Farm Inc. from Pili, Camarines Sur; El Miro De Shei from Camalig, Albay; Deloverges Farm from Bula, Camarines Sur; and Albay Family Bounty (AFB) Village, and the youth grantees.

Assistant Center Director Vivien V. Carable, Partnership and Accreditation Section OIC-Chief Engr. Kristine O. Olila, Acting Accountant Nancy M. Anagao, OA Focal Person Justine Rose C. Tubig and Alternate Focal Person Danjhan B. Layco were also witnesses to the MOA signing.

Ms. Tubig discussed the obligations of the grantees and farm partners/ The latter will serve as training grounds for the Internship component of the program.

The program has allocated funds for the provision of financial assistance which include monthly stipend and start-up capital to the young farmers, and technical assistance for the thorough validation and assessment.
