SORSOGON CITY — The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center V (ATI Bicol) spearheaded two batches of the Training on Integrated Diversified Rice-Based Farming Systems in the Province of Sorsogon. Held on August 7, 2024 (Batch 1) and August 9, 2024 (Batch 2), these trainings marked a significant milestone of the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Systems (PAFES).

A collaboration with the Provincial Local Government Unit of Sorsogon (PLGU-Sorsogon), this initiative is more than just a training program—it is a beacon of hope for the local rice farmers. The training is designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to diversify their farming practices, ensuring sustainability and resilience in the face of changing agricultural challenges.

By embracing this innovative approach, Sorsogon’s rice farmers are taking a bold step towards a future where agriculture thrives not only as a means of livelihood but as a sustainable way of life. With the success of these initial batches, ATI Bicol and PLGU-Sorsogon are paving the way for more opportunities to uplift and empower the farming community throughout the year.
