Eligibility Criteria and Corresponding Documentary Requirements for Application

A highly specialized 21-month internship program designed to instill and develop among youth interns an appreciation and adoption of coconut production technologies and enterprise.

The youth are partnered with coconut LSAs and/or farm partners/cooperatives for their hands-on internship during the first year, and in the second year, they will be mentored based on their agri-business proposals (Business Enterprise Plan – BEP).

The program provides start-up support and mentoring for implementing their BEP related to coconuts across their value chain.

For Farm Partners:

Eligibility Criteria

Documentary Requirements

  1. Farm operator/owner, preferably Coco-LSA certified Farm

LSA certification if applicable

  1. Must be in operation for at least one (1) year

Farm ledger and Financial Statement for the previous year’s operation

  1. Has farm activities within the value chain either production, value-adding, processing, or marketing

Farm Layout;

Photos of the Farm and its facilities including accommodation areas; and

List and biodata of Resource Persons/ Trainers

  1. Has accommodation facility for at least two (2) interns
  1. Has basic farm tools, equipment, or facilities needed for its operations
  1. Willing to provide food for the interns during the nine (9) months internship program
  1. Has an Internship Program Plan (IPP) for nine (9) months

Internship Program Plan and design including evaluation and post-internship assessment

  1. With good community standing and has no proven derogatory record

At least two (2) recommendation letters from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers’ cooperative, or association)

  1. The farm area is not part of the conflict zones

Certification from the respective Philippine National Police Offices

  1. Others

Letter of intent addressed to the DA-ATI Regional Director

Use an existing or open a LandBank of the Philippines bank account for the internship

 

For Interns:

Eligibility Criteria

Documentary Requirements

  1. Natural-born Filipino citizen aged 22 to 30 years old, single, and unemployed at the time of deployment.

Clear scanned copy of any valid government-issued ID (i.e. PSA certificate, PRC, National ID, Voters IC, etc.) indicating date of birth

  1. Son/daughter of NCFRS- registered coconut farmer (less than 5 hectares)

Certification from PCA Regional Office

  1. Interested in venturing into the coconut industry

Notarized Sworn Statement as proof of willingness and commitment to undertake coconut-related enterprise

  1. Willing to undertake a 21-month specialized program (9 months of internship and 12 months Business Enterprise Plan implementation
  1. Physically and mentally fit

Medical Certificate indicating “Fit to Work” and no underlying health condition as supported by:

  • Drug test
  • X-ray
  • Complete Blood Count
  • Hepatitis B test
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecalysis
  • Pregnancy Test
  • ECG

Mental Health Fitness Certificate must be issued by a psychiatrist.

  1. Has good community standing

At least two (2) recommendation letters from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers’ cooperative, or association) and attest applicant has good moral character

  1. Simplified Business Plan

Duly accomplished simplified business plan.

  1. Others

Use an existing or open a LandBank of the Philippines bank account for the internship

Certificate of related training attended, if any

Certification of no overdue obligations from DA or ATI at the time of application, not a previous intern or grantee of any ATI internship program, and not a recipient of any DA grants.

Proof of land for the establishment of the business enterprise plan (i.e. owned, leased, rented, or donated); or Certification of land for availability for the planned business/ enterprise from the LGU/ATI RTC based on validation
