Internship Program for Children of Coconut Farmers
Eligibility Criteria and Corresponding Documentary Requirements for Application
A highly specialized 21-month internship program designed to instill and develop among youth interns an appreciation and adoption of coconut production technologies and enterprise.
The youth are partnered with coconut LSAs and/or farm partners/cooperatives for their hands-on internship during the first year, and in the second year, they will be mentored based on their agri-business proposals (Business Enterprise Plan – BEP).
The program provides start-up support and mentoring for implementing their BEP related to coconuts across their value chain.
For Farm Partners:

Farm ledger and Financial Statement for the previous year’s operation |

Farm Layout; Photos of the Farm and its facilities including accommodation areas; and List and biodata of Resource Persons/ Trainers |

Internship Program Plan and design including evaluation and post-internship assessment |
|
At least two (2) recommendation letters from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers’ cooperative, or association) |

Certification from the respective Philippine National Police Offices |
|
Letter of intent addressed to the DA-ATI Regional Director |
|
Use an existing or open a LandBank of the Philippines bank account for the internship |
For Interns:

Clear scanned copy of any valid government-issued ID (i.e. PSA certificate, PRC, National ID, Voters IC, etc.) indicating date of birth |

Certification from PCA Regional Office |
|
Notarized Sworn Statement as proof of willingness and commitment to undertake coconut-related enterprise |
|
|
|
Medical Certificate indicating “Fit to Work” and no underlying health condition as supported by:
Mental Health Fitness Certificate must be issued by a psychiatrist. |
|
At least two (2) recommendation letters from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers’ cooperative, or association) and attest applicant has good moral character |
|
Duly accomplished simplified business plan. |
|
Use an existing or open a LandBank of the Philippines bank account for the internship |
|
Certificate of related training attended, if any |
|
|
Certification of no overdue obligations from DA or ATI at the time of application, not a previous intern or grantee of any ATI internship program, and not a recipient of any DA grants. |
|
|
Proof of land for the establishment of the business enterprise plan (i.e. owned, leased, rented, or donated); or Certification of land for availability for the planned business/ enterprise from the LGU/ATI RTC based on validation |
