The Agricultural Training Institute and the Japan Agricultural Exchange Council (JAEC) now accept applicants for the next Young Filipino Farm Leaders Training Program in Japan (YFFLTPJ) for Batch 2026!ย 

Basic Qualifications:ย 

  1. Young Filipino farmers, preferably but not necessarily members of the 4-H Club of the Philippines or recipients of the DA-AMAS Young Farmers Challenge Program;
  2. Out-of-school youth with at least a High School Diploma (Old Curriculum) or Senior High School Diploma (K-12), or a College Graduate, preferably but not necessarily a graduate of any agriculture-related courses or a technical or vocational graduate;
  3. Single male or female, between 20-30 years old (YFFLTPJ), has no live-in partner nor is pregnant (for female interns) or has a child at the time of application and departure;
  4. OSY and college graduates must have at least two (2) years of accumulated practical or hands-on farming experience (after high school/college graduation) at the time of application;
  5. Has existing agricultural land, regardless of size and status of ownership;
  6. Has good community standing and/or good moral character certified by their respective Barangay Chairman;
  7. Has good communication skills and good English proficiency, certified by their respective Local Government Units (LGUs);
  8. Not related to any ATI employee by affinity or consanguinity, for up to 3rd degree certified by the Regional Screening Committee; The word "relative" under the Local Government Code refers to those related within the third degree of consanguinity (relationship by blood) or affinity (relationship by marriage) such as spouse (1st degree), children (1st degree), sibling (2nd degree), nephew and niece (3rd degree), and uncle and aunt (3rd degree).
  9. Have no overdue obligations from the ATI at the time of application;
  10. Not a recipient of ATI's other IIPs, and has no previous overseas travel related to the IIPs;
  11. Willing to learn new technologies and foreign languages, duly signed by the applicant;
  12. For YFFLTPJ, a certificate from the doctor stating no tattoos and/or piercings in any part of the body, ear piercings are allowed for females only; and
  13. Passed the medical examination/tests, conducted in diagnostic clinics, hospitals, or laboratories accredited by the Department of Health (DOH), with ALL Laboratory Results and Medical Certificates indicating "Fit to Work" remarks.ย 

Regional Medical Examination includes:ย 

  • Chest X-Ray for tuberculosis;
  • Stool examination for parasites;
  • Serological test for syphilis; andย 
  • Drug test.

Applicants may submit their medical examination after passing the written examination, interview, and field validation.

14. Certified true copy of Training Certificates on agriculture and non-agriculture courses;ย 
15. Transcript of Record (TOR) or Certification from the last school attended;
16. Original National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Police Clearance with 1-year validity;
17. Original PSA birth certificate and Certificate of live birth from the Local Civil Registrar Office;ย 
18. Tax Identification Number (TIN) or ID; and
19. Original Philippine Passport valid for at least (3) years at the time of application.ย
