Colors of the Wind: The contestant is tracing her drawing during the Poster Making Contest
BANGA, Aklan – Organic Agriculture interns, farm partners, students and teachers from different SUCs in Region 6, DA-RFO 6 representatives, and ATI Region 6 celebrate the 10th Organic Agriculture Month with the theme: “Kabuhayang OA, Kinabukasang OK: PGS Pinalakas para sa Bagong Pilipinas” on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at ATI Region 6 Training Hall, ASU Compound.
During her opening remarks, Mary Ann A. Ramos, Center Director, offered gratitude and inspiration. She emphasizes that a comprehensive approach to providing internships, training, and other extension services is necessary.
She expressed, “Thank you so much for gathering here today. Today marks our 10th Organic Agriculture Month Celebration. We are so happy to receive support from the Department of Agriculture. I would also like to extend my thanks to our farm partners for always being there to support our organic agriculture interns. Your support means a lot to us. With your expertise in training and extension services, I truly believe that our OAP interns will be full of learning and experiences, for they will be the future backbone of the agriculture sector.”
Battle of the Brains during the Organic Agriculture Quiz Bee
Various activities, such as a quiz bee and poster-making contest, were conducted as part of the ATI’s efforts to entice youth to practice organic agriculture. Shane Balili of Northern Iloilo State University emerged as the Champion for this year’s Organic Agriculture Quiz Bee, and Eugene M. Botalon of State University of Northern Negros claimed the second spot. At the same time, Marielle Joy B. Zapico of Aklan State University secured the third spot.
Meanwhile, Keanne Mariz E. Teodosio of Aklan State University was hailed as the Champion of the Poster Making contest. On the other hand, Dhenzel Bryan Aurillo of Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology claimed the second spot. Lastly, Yolyjean Sueno of Western Visayas State University secured the third spot.
Furthermore, ATI Region 6 also recognized the efforts and sacrifices of our farm partners.
This one-day activity aimed to create awareness and inform the general public about the core programs of the National Organic Agriculture Program and enhance the knowledge and skills of the youth in organic agriculture through the Kabataang OA.
