NEW WASHINGTON, Aklan – Twenty-five INSPIRE beneficiaries and assisting LGU implementers gather for a three-day Training on Financial Management and Bookkeeping Course on March 20-22, 2024 at GLS Agricultural Integrated Farm.

"This training is substantial to all the INSPIRE implementers. The government has entrusted us with millions of pesos. It is essential also to prove that their confidence deals with proper compliance through proper financial management and record keeping," ATI Region 6's Center Director Mary Ann A. Ramos expressed in her message.

In addition to financial management and bookkeeping, participants learned an organization's basic structure and their governance and management duties. Moreover, Vic Mae Laurdaus, Provincial Agricultural, and Fishery Council (PAFC) Coordinator, discussed organizational development sessions and shared strategies for managing the participants' associations. Aklan's PAFC Chairman Arnulfo T. Magcope facilitated several workshops such as analysis of the transactions, journal entries, posting to the general ledger, preparing trial lance, and preparing financial statements to upskill participants in implementing the said project.

Arnulfo T. Magcope coaches participants in accomplishing journal entries.

"We are very excited to implement what we learned in our organizations. The organizational development was beneficial in leading our people. Also, the financial management and bookkeeping lessons will help us to manage our resources effectively and comply with the INSPIRE program's requirements," said Carmencita M. Garcia, one of the participants.

The participants and the Training Management Team pose for a photo opportunity to conclude the training.

The Center will continue to monitor and capacitate INSPIRE beneficiaries to ensure successful implementation of the project. This activity aims to capacitate Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and INSPIRE beneficiaries through training on entrepreneurship ideas in business, understanding basic bookkeeping concepts, and best practices in bookkeeping.
