FIRST BATCH OF TRAINING ON COCONUT NURSERY ESTABLISHMENT FOR FARMERS INAUGURATED

NEW WASHINGTON, Aklan – ATI Region 6 inaugurates its first batch of Training on Coconut Nursery Establishment for Farmers on February 20-22, 2024, in GLS Agricultural Integrated Farm with 30 registered members of coconut farmers associations as participants, which Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) identified.

Feelmer John R. Sasis and Dinabeth J. Onayan from PCA shared their expertise on nursery management, seedlings propagation, site selection, soil preparation, seed selection, propagation techniques, pest and disease management, irrigation, nursery maintenance, and nursery accreditation and certification. After the discussion, the participants experienced hands-on practical activities. This endeavor allowed skill development opportunities, ultimately better-preparing individuals for the challenges of establishing and managing coconut nurseries.
