The ATI Region 6 acts as a knowledge bank in Region 6 and is on a mission to train Local Farmer Technicians in the region about the promotion of rice diversification. The ATI Region 6 held a “Technical Briefing On Rice Crop Diversification for Local Farmer Technicians” with 6 batches, in various venues and dates from April to June.
The first batch started last April 8, 2025, for the LFTs in Aklan held at ATI Training Hall ASU, Compound, Banga, Aklan, with 50 participants.
During the training, Ms. Liela A. Rosbero – Senior Agriculturist, CAO Passi City served as the resource person and shared her expertise with her various topics to enlighten LFTs about the subject.

The participants wrote down important details regarding their lessons as the resource speaker explains the topic.
After the training, one of the participants shared her impressions “In behalf of the LFT Madalag, I would like to express our sincerest thanks to the Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center VI, the Training Management Team, to the Resource Person and my co-LFTs. Thank you very much to everyone. We have learned a lot in this activity which we can apply to our community. It is very understandable and adaptable to embrace the technologies. To have food sufficiency and food security, we need to help each other. Once again, thank you very much,” Ms. Marivic Viray, LFT-Madalag.

The participants and the resource speaker posed for a group photo after the one-day training.
On the other hand, in the province of Antique, 52 LFTs and 1 LFT Coordinator participated in the second batch of the training last April 15, 2025, and was held at KAMAPAT Agriculture Cooperative and Learning Site, Poblacion, Patnongon, Antique.
The personnel from ATI Region 6 namely; Ms. Lyn G. Bantigue, Agriculturist II and Mr. Rodel R. Leyson, Training Specialist II were assigned as resource speakers.

The participants discuss and collaborate their ideas during the lecture and discussion and activity.
Mr. Felipe N. Fulgencio, LFT-San Remegio shared his impressions “ I am very thankful that we were refreshed with this day's activity. In my knowledge, this crop diversification is diversion of crops that we are planting but now I learned that it is a sort of integrated farming where everything is available. In my farm, I have already established this way of farming. I am amazed with this activity because this crop diversification is what we are already doing in our farms but the knowledge about this system is what we are lacking. It is like a sari-sari store where all are available in one place. And also, the food is good and the venue is good. That’s all, thank you very much.”

The training participants strike a pose after their training outside the venue.
Another batch of the training took place last April 22, 2025, at Hotel Veronica, Pueblo de Panay, Lawaan, Roxas City, with 50 participants from Capiz, wherein, Ms. Lyn G. Bantigue, Agriculturist II-ATI-RTC 6 and Ms. Liela A. Rosbero – Senior Agriculturist, CAO Passi City, served as resource speakers during the training.
At the end of the training, a participant namely Mr. Roberto A. Basilonia, LFT-Panay, Capiz, said “First of all I am very thankful for the opportunity to attend this activity. Also to our resource persons and to the ATI in extending their knowledge and ideas. And when we get back home, we should thank God that we are safe. Once again, thank you and we hope to see you all again. Thank you very much to all of you.”
