BAROTAC NUEVO, Iloilo - To extend the steps of the Department of Agriculture towards modernization and digitalization to the 4th Industrial Revolution (4th IR), the ATI Region 6 held the Training on the Digital Platform for Data-Driven Decision-Making for Rice Extension Interventions of the DA (4DFarms) Using the MEL Tool on March 19-21, 2025, at the Ina Farmers Learning Site & Agri-Farm Inc.

The participants actively utilize the application during the demonstration of the tool.
Twenty-seven local farmer technicians and learning sites for agriculture (LSA) cooperators all over the region attended the three-day event.

Ms. Denmarie Lodovice of the DA-RFO 6, was the resource person during the training, wherein she explaining the questionnaire to the participants.
In partnership with the Department of Agriculture as resource persons, the Training's general objective is to develop and strengthen the knowledge and ideas of participants regarding the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) tool in the RCMAS platform.

One of the participants in the training interviews was a farmer at the Municipality of Dumangas.
During the training, a hands-on interview with the farmers at the Municipality of Dumangas, specifically at Dumangas-Barotac Mushroom Growers and Processors Association, another Learning Site of Agriculture partner of ATI Region 6, occurred as part of their fieldwork.
The questionnaire asks for data and information regarding the farmers' financial and physical condition before, during, and after their farming encounters. This MEL Tool is also expected to be useful in monitoring and evaluating the different DA rice programs for farmers.

Damo kami sang na learn bisan may edad na kami”, Mr. Salvador Bediones, a local farmer technician from Carles, Iloilo.
The training mentioned above is the preparation for tool's rollout.
