LAYING THE GROUNDWORK FOR A NEW YOUTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE PHILIPPINES

The members of the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (EPIS) that will lead the feasibility study actively attend the meeting with ATI officials and staff.

BANGA, Aklan – Another Internship Program targeted at Young Filipinos takes a significant step forward with a feasibility study led by the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (EPIS) and the Agricultural Training Institute.

Mr. Vianney T. Ojerio, OIC-Assistant Center Director of ATI Region 6, shares some of the office's existing internship programs with the EPIS Team.

The feasibility study took off in ATI Region 6 on January 20, 2025. This study aims to assess the current agricultural environment and farmer situations in key regions, evaluate the status and utilization of established smart farm facilities, identify necessary improvements and resources to enhance training programs for young farmers, and develop strategies for sustainable, innovative farming education and business opportunities.

The EPIS team tours the Aklan Agri-Aqua Demonstration Farm and Training Center, one of ATI Region 6's Learning Sites for Agriculture.

The team also visited the Aklan Agri-Aqua Demonstration Farm and Training Center to observe successful innovative farming practices locally and gather insights into the feasibility of implementing programs in the area. 

The EPIS team will proceed to Iloilo and Northern Mindanao to compile relevant data for the project.
