ATI REGION 6 CELEBRATES 36 YEARS OF INNOVATION, TRANSFORMATION AND EMPOWERMENT

BANGA, Aklan - ATI Region 6 marked its 36 years through several activities and festivities last January 31, 2023, with the theme, “ATI Leads: Innovate, Transform, Empower. Embracing Extension Modernization for a Progressive and Sustainable Agriculture and Fisheries”. ATI staff, honored guests, partners, stakeholders, and attendees decked the ATI Training Hall in modern Filipiniana fashion, signaling a contemporary and innovative age for extension services. 


During the opening program, ATI OIC-Director IV Remelyn R. Recoter emphasized that despite challenges and adversities in the agriculture sector, ATI continued to thrive and has now become the knowledge bank, capacity builder and catalyst of change. 


She remarked: “A lot needs to be done as we enter the depths of digitalization. This year’s theme echoes our shared aspirations to help our farmers and fisherfolks achieve the life they deserve by providing them with more development opportunities.


Meanwhile, ATI Region 6 Officer-in-Charge Mary Ann A. Ramos, during her Welcome Remarks, pledged that the Institute will continue to come up with innovative ways of empowering its partners in extension to help farmers and fishers learn and improve their knowledge and skills. 


As part of the celebration, ATI Region 6 gave recognition to commendable performances and awarded projects to recipients such as the Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) and exemplary performance of EAsY Agri Sscholars (Batch 1) and EdGE Scholars. 


The ATI and its partners also marked its Pledge of Commitment to the modernization of Agriculture and Fisheries Extension towards Masaganang Agrikultura, Maunlad na Ekonomiya.


The Oathtaking of LSA Regional Officers also took place during the ceremony. 


Products and services were also showcased during the LSA Product Exhibit at the Training Hall entrance, were guests witnessed a variety of crops and technologies provided for by participating Learning Sites. 


The ceremony concluded with the commemorative toast and slicing of cake. 


To capped off the celebration, a teambuilding activity was held where ATI Region 6 staff engaged in various exercises to build a strong company culture.


The Agricultural Training Institute was established in 1987 through the Executive Order No. 116, s.1987 and the network of Training Centers was formed in 1989.
