BANGA, Aklan - The ATI Region 6 management meets with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) - Project Management Consultants (PMC) and the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office VI for the partnership on the Value Chain Enhancement of High-Value Crops through Smart Agriculture (VEHCSA) on February 26, 2024 at the Maria Y. Orosa Hall, 4-Hub.
Dr. Yoon Haejin, Project Manager, leads the team of consultants in facilitating the initial planning process on the capability-building component of the program, and the body participates in a workshop to discuss the roles and responsibilities of the partner agencies, and the development of curriculum for skills enhancement of human resources on modern farming technologies.
ATI Region 6 initially agreed to develop and package modules for the program. The modules will focus on the production technology of nine (9) crops. An invitational training program will follow for the crafting of action plans.
VEHCSA, which aims to improve the value chain of high-value crops through smart agriculture for farmers in Western Visayas, initially took off in November 2023 and was donated by the KOICA.
The VECHSA will run from November 2024 to December 2027.
