BANGA, Aklan - Embodying the theme, "Lipunang Patas para Sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!" ATI Region 6 is immersed in different activities to celebrate National Women's Month 2024.
Highlights include the Gender Awareness and Sensitivity Training held at the ATI Training Hall from March 25 to 27, 2024, attended by the ATI Region 6 staff.
"What resonated with me is that, even if we have differences in terms of sex and gender, we must, at the end of the day, respect each other," shared Rosvel Sistorias, Dormitory Manager, during the session on Gender Spectrum and the basic concepts on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC).
Gender norms were also addressed during the session, highlighting their effects on the psychosocial well-being of men and women.
The training aimed to enhance the participants’ awareness and understanding of gender and development concepts, particularly sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender norms.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the month-long celebrations, the much-anticipated Pamper Day session was also dedicated to honoring the ATI men and women's well-being and self-care. Participants indulged in rejuvenating activities such as massage therapy, spa and beauty sessions. The focus is on nurturing the body and mind, encouraging women to prioritize their health and happiness.
The month-long festivities aimed to inspire, empower, and uplift women by celebrating their achievements and advocating for a brighter future through education, cultural celebration, community support, and self-care initiatives.
