ILOILO CITY, Western Visayas - The Commission on Higher Education Region 6 recognized ATI Region 6 and other higher education institutions (HEIs) during the 2nd CHED Quality Awards last May 19, 2023, at the West Visayas State University Cultural Center, La Paz, Iloilo City. CHED VI recognized the different agencies' efforts and initiatives in instruction, research, and community extension.
Vianney T. Ojerio, Chief of the Partnerships and Accreditation Section, attended the awarding ceremony on behalf of Mary Ann A. Ramos, Center Director.
During his Opening Message, Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, Jr., CHED Regional Director, emphasized the value of having the courage to do what is suitable for the students. During his opening message, he underscored through a nautical short story the impact of having the courage to do what is right over easy, particularly in public service. "We have to go out of our comfort zones, leave our interest behind when public interest is at stake and while we meet the needs of the students'," stressed Alvarez.
The ATI management acknowledged that the award is a testament to ATI's unwavering service to clients and partners, Agricultural Extensionists, farmers, and fisherfolks, as well as the continuous partnership with other institutions within the Department of Agriculture and all government agencies.
ATI Region 6 is currently offering scholarship programs for the youth in agriculture, particularly the deserving sons and daughters of farmers and fisherfolks who are taking Agriculture, Fisheries, AB Engineering, Forestry, Environmental Science, Veterinary Medicine, and other Agri-related courses. Moreover, the Institute provides opportunities to advance its clients and partners, the Agricultural Extensionists through its Masteral and PhD scholarship grants.
