ESCALATING GLOBAL EXPOSURE: ATI WELCOMES APPLICANTS FOR ISRAEL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

To bridge the gap between the aging farmer population and the fewer young individuals expressing interest in pursuing agricultural careers, the Department of Agriculture, through the Agricultural Training Institute, provides international internship opportunities to encourage youth participation in agricultural development.
The ATI opens a call for applicants for the Philippine-Israel Internship Program for the Youth, collaborating with Agrostudies International Training Center. The three-year program will benefit 150 Filipino youth (50 per batch) who graduate from agriculture-related courses, preferably children of smallholder farmers and fishers. The 11-month paid internship program includes weekly lectures by various experts, on-the-job training on the farms, and educational tours. In addition, the interns are compensated more or less Php 80,000.00 monthly to cover their food, accommodation, medical fees, and other expenses.
To be eligible for the internship program, one should be: 1) a graduate of BS Agriculture and other-related courses; 2) between 21-33 years of age; 3) preferably a son or daughter of a farmer, fisher, or a cooperator of the ATI-certified learning site, or Farm School; 4) has existing agricultural land, regardless of size and status of ownership; 5) has no overdue obligation from the DA or ATI; 6) not a recipient of ATI's other international internship program; and 7) with laboratory results and medical certificates indicating “Fit to Work” obtained from hospitals/ laboratories accredited by Department of Health (DOH); and 8) must not be related by consanguinity or affinity within 2nd degree to any ATI employee (e.i., parent, sibling, child, grandparent, grandchild, spouse, parent-in-law, daughter/son-in-law).
