BANGA, Aklan – Two Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) agriculture students won top prizes in the Kabataang OA regional quiz bee last November 16, 2023, held at the ATI Training Hall. Both students hailed from the Barotac Viejo Campus.
Shane I. De Los Santos achieved first place, while Joan Shane M. Balili finished second on the final round. Both students are in their third year at NISU. Meanwhile, Aklan State University Contenders J-Ann F. Masallo and Marielle Joy B. Zapico came in third and fourth, respectively.
The winners took home medals and cash prizes.
De Los Santos will represent Western Visayas in the second National Kabataang OA Quiz Bee on November 23, 2023 at the ATI Central Office.
The Kabataang OA Quiz Bee is a returning competition as part of the National Organic Agriculture Month celebration, which aims to raise awareness of organic agriculture practices, technologies, and regulations to the younger generation.
