YOUTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM ON ORGANIC AGRICULTURE (YIPOA) FOR INTERNS AND FARM PARTNERS

The Youth Internship Program is a highly specialized internship program designed to instill and develop in the interns’ appreciation and eagerness for organic agriculture and eventually adopt it as their source of income.
The program provides start-up support and mentoring for the implementation of their business/enterprise plan. Thus, empowering the youth to become organic agripreneurs.
The Program is a 21-month internship program meant to attract the youth in organic agriculture. It consists of:
Requirements for Interns:
1. Natural born Filipino citizen Male or Female Ages 18 to 35 years old at the time of application.
2. Interested to enter the agriculture industry, specifically the practice of organic agriculture.
3. Willingness to undertake 21-month internship and hands-on practice contract.
4. Physically and Mentally Fit.
5. Have no overdue obligations from the DA or ATI at the time of application.
6. Has good community standing and/or good moral character certified by LGU.
Qualifications for Farm Partners:
1. Farm operator/owner of certified organic or chemical-free farm, preferably LSA certified farm.
2. Must be in operation for at least one (1) year.
3. Has farm activities within the value chain either production, value adding, processing, or marketing.
4. Has basic farm tools, equipment or facilities needed for its operation.
5. Has accommodation facility for at least two (2) trainees.
6. Can provide food for the interns during the 9-month intensive training program.
7. Has internship program plan from March to November within a year.
8. With good community standing and has no proven derogatory record.
9. Farm area is not part of conflict zones.
