TUBIGON, BOHOL. — In celebration of Women's Month, the Agricultural Training Institute - Central Visayas (ATI Central Visayas), in partnership with the Banikanhong Kaugmaran Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BKMPC), conducted an outreach program on March 29, 2025, in Bilangbilangan Island, Tubigon, Bohol.
The event focused on raising awareness about women’s rights and protection under the law, particularly through a lecture on Republic Act No. 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004. Mr. Andrew L. Soliva, a registered social worker (RSW), led the session, engaging more than 25 women participants in a discussion about legal protections and available support for victims of violence.
The outreach was a key component of ATI Central Visayas' efforts to empower women in rural and coastal communities, aligning with the broader goals of the national Women’s Month Celebration. By bringing legal literacy and support services directly to island residents, the activity highlighted the importance of inclusive and community-based approaches to gender advocacy.
Organizers expressed hope that the initiative would help strengthen local awareness of women’s rights and encourage collective action in preventing violence and promoting gender equality across the region.
