ATI 8 Launches “ATIng Palaro” to Mark 37th Anniversary Celebration

BAYBAY CITY, Leyte - To kick off the countdown to its 37th anniversary, the Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center 8 (ATI-RTC 8) initiated the "ATIng Palaro" on January 29, 2024. This sporting event aligns with the Center's aim to enhance teamwork among ATI-RTC 8 staff while fostering a positive and energized workplace culture.

The games, scheduled to run until the anniversary date, include badminton, table tennis, volleyball, scrabble, word factory, chess, and sungka. The competitions take place from 4 to 5 PM during the Center's "hataw" hour, injecting a dose of energy and enthusiasm into the daily routine.

ATI Center Director Hazel Grace Taganas expressed her excitement during her opening remarks, highlighting that "ATIng Palaro" is an excellent opportunity for staff to become active, explore new sports, and strengthen camaraderie. She encouraged everyone's participation, wishing all the competing teams a fruitful and enjoyable experience throughout the games.

Mr. Bethel John  Sinon, Chairman of the ATI Learning and Development Committee, provided an overview of the activity, emphasizing that the sportsfest serves as a way to commemorate the Center's milestone and celebrate the accomplishments of its dedicated staff. He expressed his hope that participating teams would not only anticipate the prizes but also appreciate the valuable lessons learned through the strategic and competitive nature of the games.

Prof. Florife A. Gatchalian of  the Institute of Human Kinetics of VSU, graced the opening program. She led the oath of sportsmanship and conducted warm-up exercises to prepare the participants for the games ahead. She also took on the role of umpire during the initial matches of the badminton games.

The official opening of "ATIng Palaro" was declared by Mr. Michael P. Buzon of the L&D Committee, setting the stage for an exciting and memorable series of events. The entire ATI family looks forward not only to the competitive spirit of the games but also the unity and shared experiences that will further strengthen their bonds as a team.
