NAVAL, BILIRAN –The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 8 has equipped its first batch of training participants on Coffee Nursery Establishment with the technical knowledge and skills in compliance with the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) standards for accreditation.

The participants gained valuable knowledge on the application process for BPI accreditation and the monitoring of compliance, essential in ensuring credible and sustainable coffee nursery operations. Through practicum activities, the participants successfully applied their learnings in the field by performing bagging, seed sowing, grafting, and demucilaging coffee seeds. The hands-on experience enhanced their technical skills, confidence, and readiness to apply proper nursery practices in their respective communities.

Moreover, the participants showed strong commitment to apply their learnings and act as knowledge multipliers by sharing their gained insights with fellow farmers. Consequently, the Naval Coconut and Cacao Farmers Agriculture Cooperative had already planned the establishment of a coffee nursery, processed the necessary documents, and demonstrated a proactive step toward producing certified quality planting materials and supporting the growth of the coffee sector.

Mr. Oscar M. Victoria shares, “Dako nakong mapasalamaton sa ATI nga gitagaan kitag oppportunity nga maka atttend aning Coffee nursery establishment for BPI Accreditation.
